The Power of the Château Cellars

At Cognac Select, we emphasize the importance of the maturation process for this specific bottle. The lower cellars of the Royal Château de Cognac, where the humidity levels reach nearly 90%, allow the eaux-de-vie to age with minimal "Angels' Share" loss of water, preserving the alcohol’s softness. This natural climate imparts a distinctive roundness and a deep, mahogany character that sets Baron Otard apart from other houses.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: A rich, deep golden color with warm, coppery reflections.

Nose: Deeply aromatic and complex. It features a refined bouquet of linden blossoms and dried tobacco leaves, perfectly balanced by subtle hints of vanilla and earthy undergrowth.

Palate: The attack is supple and full-bodied. It reveals lush flavors of ripe pear and honey, which gradually give way to more structured notes of tobacco and soft spices. The high proportion of Fine Champagne eaux-de-vie provides a silken texture and great finesse.

Finish: Surprisingly long and elegant. It leaves a persistent trail of sweet spices and floral notes, showcasing a maturity often associated with older cognacs.
