Talent de Thomas Hine is the absolute pinnacle of the Maison a Hors d'Âge Grande Champagne cognac assembled from some fifty fully mature and exceptional eaux-de-vie, the oldest of which date back to the end of the nineteenth century. Named in homage to Thomas Hine, the Dorset-born entrepreneur whose arrival in Jarnac in 1791 transformed a small family business into one of cognac's great houses, Talent is both a tribute to a man and a monument to an art form.

The cognac is presented in a hand-crafted crystal carafe signed by Baccarat, housed in a numbered wooden humidor fashioned from precious Macassar ebony and Honduras mahogany, and accompanied by four crystal tulip glasses designed by Bernard Hine. Every element of this presentation has been created to equal the extraordinary nature of the liquid within.

Tasting Notes

Appearance:
Deep, rich mahogany amber the colour of time itself, intense and luminous.

Nose:
Opulent and deeply complex: candied dates, jasmine, tobacco leaf and sun-dried figs lead the way, complemented by richly oxidative notes of roasted nuts, butter and warm toast. An extraordinary aromatic depth born of decades in the cask.

Palate:
Richly textured and silky gingerbread, currants, oriental spices and musky cloves interweave with a creamy, almost velvety texture. Deeply layered and endlessly complex, revealing new facets with every sip.

Finish:
Infinite. A sustained, extraordinary finish of dried fruits, oriental spice and fine oak that lingers long after the glass is empty.
