L'Or de Jean Martell - Réserve du Château de Chanteloup is an exquisite cognac that embodies the essence of French luxury and the unparalleled savoir-faire of Maison Martell. This exceptional collection pays homage to the prestigious châteaux of France, and each edition is crafted by Martell Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud. The cognac blends more than 1,400 eaux-de-vie from the finest terroirs in the Cognac region, resulting in a unique and memorable tasting experience.
The first edition of the collection, presented in 2024, is aged in barrels of 300-year-old oak sourced from France's most ancient forests. The aging process takes place initially in a historic cellar in Cognac, followed by completion at the chosen château, with the 2024 edition being aged at the Château de Chanteloup, a historic site for the Martell family.
The cognac presents an amber color with glints of copper and unfolds an aromatic journey from start to finish. It offers floral notes of iris, wild carnation, and honeysuckle, merging into sweet, rich aromas of red and black fruits, notably cherry and blackcurrant, with a hint of spice. As it evolves, it reveals aromas of earth and rancio, complemented by fragrant notes of sandalwood and cedar from the ancient oak barrels.
To showcase this masterpiece, Maison Martell collaborated with Maison Baccarat, one of France's most revered manufacturers of fine crystal, to create an exquisitely elegant crystal decanter. The design of the decanter, evoking a single, pure drop of cognac, complements the richness and refinement of the blend within. The decanter is presented in a beautifully crafted wooden box, enhancing its luxurious appeal.
L'Or de Jean Martell - Réserve du Château is a limited release, with only 1,000 individually numbered decanters available globally, making it a highly exclusive and sought-after collector's item.
This collection is not just a cognac but an embodiment of French art de vivre and Martell's 300-plus-year heritage. It is an exceptional cognac to savor neat, offering a sensory experience unlike any other.
